Gloria & Emilio Estefan Musical ON YOUR FEET! Sets Broadway Dates, Launches Int’l Casting Search

James L. Nederlander, Estefan Enterprises, Inc and Bernie Yuman are pleased to announce that On Your Feet!a new musical based on the life story of seven-time GRAMMY® winning international superstarGloria Estefan and her husband, legendary producer-musician-entrepreneur Emilio Estefan  will have its Opening Night on Broadway on Thursday, November 5, 2015, with preview performances beginning Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Marquis Theatre in New York City.  The musical, directed by two-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Mitchell (Kinky Boots, Hairspray), will land on Broadway following a five-week World Premiere engagement at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago, from June 2 – July 5, 2015.

Today, the production launches an international casting search, Reach Gloria (#ReachGloria) which offers performers around the world a chance to audition for all roles in the Broadway cast of On Your Feet!by submitting audition videos online atwww.OnYourFeetMusical.com.  The production will also host two OPEN CASTING CALLS next month – one in the Estefans’ home city of Miami, Florida, in Knight Concert Hall of Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts on Sunday September 21, 2014, and another at Pearl Studios in New York City on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. The open casting calls will be led by members of the show’s creative team, and casting director Justin Huff, CSA of Telsey + Co.

On Your Feet! is the story of two people who—through an unwavering dedication to one another and their pursuit of the American dream—showcased their talent, their music and their heritage to the world in a remarkable rise to global superstardom.  Set to Gloria’s chart-topping, smash hits such as “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” “1-2-3,” “Mi Tierra,” and “Conga,” in addition to new music penned by the Estefans, the show will be choreographed by four-time Drama Desk nominee Sergio Trujillo (Jersey Boys, Memphis) with a book by two-time Drama Desk nominee Alexander Dinelaris (The Bodyguard Musical, Zanna Don’t).

FUN HOME Finds Its Home On Broadway This Spring

SIDE SHOW Begins Performances on Broadway October 28th

The much-talked about dazzling new production of Side Show will open on Broadway this fall at the St. James Theatre, it was announced today in New York City. HONEYMOON IN VEGAS Announces Additional Casting

Honeymoon In Vegas, the eagerly anticipated new musical with book by Blazing Saddles and Fletch writer Andrew Bergman and score by three-time Tony Award-winner Jason Robert Brown, is pleased to announce additional casting and creative team for Broadway. In addition, single tickets for the production are on sale to the general public today via Ticketmaster.com.

Joining previously announced stars Tony nominee Rob McClure, Brynn O’Malley, and Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Tony Danza, will be David Josefsberg (Motown The Musical), Tony Award nominee Nancy Opel (Urinetown), and Matthew Saldivar (Peter and the Starcatcher). The Broadway premiere of Honeymoon In Vegas reunites all six principal actors who appeared in the acclaimed world premiere of the new musical at Papermill Playhouse. Ensemble casting for Honeymoon In Vegas will be announced in the coming weeks.

CHICAGO To Welcome Back Two-Time Tony Nominee Christopher Fitzgerald

On Tuesday, August 5, Broadway’s Tony Award-winning, record-breaking smash hit musical Chicago will welcome back two-time Tony Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald in the his second starring role in the production.

Fitzgerald, who made his Chicago debut last October as Roxie Hart’s all-but-invisible husband, “Mister Cellophane” Amos Hart, returns to the company next week as Billy Flynn, “the silver-tongued Prince of the Courtroom.”

With that, he becomes the first actor in the show’s 18-year history to be contracted to perform both starring male roles.

Broadway’s ON THE TOWN Welcomes Jackie Hoffman

Producers Howard & Janet Kagan are proud to announce that Jackie Hoffman (Xanadu, Hairspray, The Addams Family) will join the upcoming Broadway revival of On The Town as “Madame Dilly.” Directed by John Rando (Tony Award® for Urinetown) and choreographed by Joshua Bergasse (Emmy Award winner for “Smash”) On The Town is set to begin previews on Saturday, September 20, 2014 and officially opens on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Broadway’s Lyric Theatre (213 W 42nd St, New York, NY 10036). Hoffman joins previously announced cast members Tony Yazbeck (Gypsy, A Chorus Line), Jay Armstrong Johnson (The New York Philharmonic’s Sweeney Todd, Hands On A Hardbody, Hair), and Clyde Alves (Bullets Over Broadway, Nice Work If You Can Get It) – as the sailors on 24-hour shore leave who take on the Big Apple – and Megan Fairchild (New York City Ballet Principal Dancer), Alysha Umphress (American Idiot) and Elizabeth Stanley (Company) as the women who steal their hearts. Fairchild, a principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, will make her Broadway debut playing ‘Ivy Smith.’

The Bronx is up, the Battery’s down, and three sailors are hoping to get just a little bit lucky on their one day of leave in the Big Apple. From the Brooklyn Navy Yard and Coney Island to Times Square and Carnegie Hall, On The Town zigzags through New York City as the sailors and the three high-spirited young women they meet chase love, dreams, and each other during an unforgettable day in the city that never sleeps. The classic score features the standards “New York, New York,” “I Can Cook Too,” “Lonely Town,” and “Some Other Time” and will be played in this production with their original orchestrations, performed by what will be the largest orchestra on Broadway, with 28 musicians led by musical director James Moore (Follies, Ragtime).

AN AMERICAN IN PARIS To Play The Palace On Broadway

Producers of the upcoming world premiere of An American in Paris are pleased to announce dates and the theatre for the Broadway run of the production. An American in Paris’ home will be the Palace Theatre (Broadway at 47th Street) with previews beginning Friday, March 13, 2015 for aSunday, April 12, 2015 opening night. An American in Paris will open on Broadway following its world premiere at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. Previews begin in Paris on Saturday, November 22, 2014 for a Wednesday, December 10, 2014 opening night.

An American in Paris will be directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, making his Broadway directing debut. Inspired by the Academy-Award winning film, An American in Paris brings this classic tale to Broadway for the first time with music and lyrics by George Gershwin and Ira Gershwin and a book by Tony and Pulitzer Prize nominee Craig Lucas.

An American in Paris transforms the timeless story of love in a city rebuilding from the heartbreak of World War II into a new Broadway musical of romance, redemption and hope.

Tour Casting Announced for RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN’S CINDERELLA

Producers of the Tony® Award winning musical Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Robyn Goodman, Jill Furman and Stephen Kocis, have announced additional casting for the First National Tour launching in Providence, RI at the Providence Performing Arts Center (PPAC) on October 10, 2014

Ready to sweep Cinderella off her feet, Andy Jones will play the role of Prince Topher. Andy was a member of the original Broadway company of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella and understudied the role of Prince Topher. He currently appears in Bullets Over Broadway The Musical.

The tour cast will also feature Kecia Lewis (Leap of Faith, The Drowsy Chaperone) as Marie, The Fairy Godmother, Blake Hammond (First Date, Sister Act) as Sebastian, Aymee Garcia (Shrek The Musical, Avenue Q) as Charlotte, Ashley Park (Mamma Mia!) as Gabrielle, David Andino (50 Shades! The Musical) as Jean-Michel and Antoine Smith (Memphis) as Lord Pinkerton.

Rounding out the ensemble are Adrien Arrieta, Adrian Badoo, Summer Broyhill, Audrey Cardwell, Jennifer Evans, Alexandra Frohlinger, Richard Gatta, Jordana Grolnick, Eric Anthony Johnson, Danielle Jordan, Bruce Landry, Ben Lanham, Stephanie Jae Park, Blakely Slaybough, Paige Williams, Thad Turner Wilson, John Yi and Alexandra Zorn. 

It was previously announced Paige Faure, Broadway’s current reigning princess, will launch the tour in the title role this fall. Additional casting will be announced at a later date. 

With its fresh new take on the beloved tale of a young woman who is transformed from a chambermaid into a princess, this hilarious and romantic Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella combines the story’s classic elements - glass slippers, pumpkin, and a beautiful ball along with some surprising twists. KINKY BOOTS Announces First National Tour Casting

Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig, lead producers of Kinky Boots, the smash-hit musical that brings together four-time Tony® Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (Book) and Grammy® Award-winning rock icon Cyndi Lauper (Tony® Award-winner for Best Score for Kinky Boots), have announced casting for the upcoming first national tour. 

Kyle Taylor Parker (Kinky BootsIn the Heights national tour), one of the Angels in the original Broadway company, will strut his stuff as Lola - something he has done to great acclaim on several occasions in New York as the Lola understudy. Steven Booth (Avenue Q, Glory DaysDogfight) will star as shoe factory owner Charlie Price. Parker and Booth will be joined by Lindsay Nicole Chambers (Hairspray, Legally Blonde, Lysistrata Jones) as Lauren, Joe Coots (TV’s “Inside Amy Schumer,” Full Monty national tour) as Don, Craig Waletzko (Guys & Dolls, Young Frankenstein) as George and Grace Stockdale in her touring debut as Nicola.

Other casting includes Darius Harper, Ricky Schroeder, Juan Torres-Falcon, Hernando Umana, Damien Brett, Stephen Carrasco, Lauren Chapman, Amelia Cormack, J. THE ELEPHANT MAN Announces Theatre, Dates & Additional Casting

The Elephant Man begins performances on Saturday, October 18, 2014 and will open on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Booth Theatre (222 W 45th St). The production will play a 13-week engagement through January 18, 2014.

This production was first produced and presented in July 2012 in Williamstown Massachusetts by the Williamstown Theatre Festival, Jenny Gersten, Artistic Director. Bradley Cooper (as John Merrick), Patricia Clarkson (as Mrs. Kendal) and Alessandro Nivola (as Dr. Fredrik Treves) all appeared together in that production, also directed by Scott Ellis. The Broadway cast will also include Anthony Heald (as Ross / Bishop Walsham How), Scott Lowell (as Snork / Pinhead Manager / Lord John), Kathryn Meisle (as Miss Sandwich / Princess) and Henry Stram (as Carr Gomm / Conductor). Full casting will be announced soon.

Based on the real life of Joseph Merrick, The Elephant Man tells the story of a 19th-century British man (Cooper) whose severe disfigurement made him a star of the traveling freak show circuit. When the renowned Dr. Treves (Nivola) takes Merrick under his care at the London Hospital, he discovers that beneath this shocking exterior lies a brilliant mind and an unshakable faith. Soon all of Victorian high society becomes fascinated by Merrick, especially the beautiful actress Mrs. Kendal (Clarkson). But with his new life comes new complexity… and as Merrick’s condition grows more severe, a “normal” life begins to seem all but impossible.
