LYSISTRATA JONES To Release Original Cast Recording

Broadway Records will release the original cast recording of the Broadway musical, Lysistrata Jones, featuring music and lyrics by Lewis Flinn and book by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane. The recording will be released on Tuesday, May 15th. Pre-orders are now being taken at A digital release date will be announced in the coming weeks. The album features the complete Broadway score as well as a special bonus track. The original Broadway cast will reunite on Wednesday, March 28 to record the album’s vocals.

The album is produced by Lewis Flinn and Dean Sharenow. Van Dean and Kenny Howard are executive producers, along with Douglas Carter Beane, Sase Sham, Jana Shea, and David Huntington. The liner notes will include essays from the creative team, as well as complete lyrics. The track listing is below:

Philip Seymour Hoffman Will Star in DEATH OF A SALESMAN on Broadway This Winter

Arthur Miller’s Tony Award® and Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece Death of a Salesman will return to Broadway this winter in a new production directed by eight-time Tony Award winner Mike Nichols. The production will star Academy Award winner Philip Seymour Hoffman as Willy Loman, Obie Award winner Linda Emond as Linda Loman, and Andrew Garfield (The Social Network, The Amazing Spider-Man) in his Broadway debut as Biff Loman. 

The strictly limited 16-week engagement opens Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue).  Previews begin Monday, February 13.

Death of a Salesman originally opened on February 10, 1949 at the Morosco Theatre.   Hailed as a masterwork of modern American drama, it won six Tony Awards, including Best Play. It also won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Play, the first play to ever win all three awards.

Death of a Salesman will also feature Finn Wittrock as Happy, Fran Kranz as Bernard, Bill Camp as Charley, John Glover as Ben, Glenn Fleshler as Stanley, and Stephanie Janssen as Miss Forsythe, with additional casting to be announced. 

The production will feature a recreation of the original ground-breaking and Tony Award-winning scenic design by Jo Mielziner, with costume design by Academy Award winner and five-time Tony Award nominee Ann Roth, lighting by three-time Tony Award-winner Brian MacDevitt and sound design by Tony Award-winner Scott Lehrer.

Nick Jonas will climb the corporate ladder as Broadway’s next ‘J. Pierrepont Finch’ in the Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical comedy HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING beginning Tuesday, January 24, 2012 through Sunday, July 1, 2012. Tickets for HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING are currently on sale through Sunday, July 1, 2012. Jonas, who began his career on stage at age 8, returns to Broadway for the first time since the launch of the international sensation The Jonas Brothers.

Nick Jonas

Nick Jonas launched his professional career at age 8 as ‘Young Scrooge/Tiny Tim’ in A Christmas Carol and followed it up with roles in the Broadway productions ofLes Misérables, Beauty and the Beast and Annie Get Your Gun with Reba McEntire. In the last year, he’s returned to his roots on the live stage, taking on the role of ‘Marius’ in London’s West End production of Les Misérables as well as at the 25th Anniversary Concert at The O2 Arena. Most recently, he starred as ‘Link Larkin’ alongside Harvey Fierstein and Marissa Jaret Winokur in the Hollywood Bowl’s production of Hairspray.

After a song written by Nick and his father found its way to Columbia Records, Nick was signed as a solo artist. His brothers Kevin and Joe were brought on board and the Jonas Brothers story began. Though the project never took off and they were dropped from Columbia, the industry had noticed and the Jonas Brothers were signed by Hollywood Records. In August 2007, the band released their self-titled debut album, which was soon certified platinum. 

In 2008, the Jonas Brothers launched two sold-out tours and released their second album, A Little Bit Longer, becoming the first artist ever to have three albums on the Billboard Top 10 at once (Jonas BrothersA Little Bit Longer, and the Camp Rocksoundtrack) and receiving a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. In 2009, they released Lines, Vines and Trying Times, which became their second No. 1 album in one year. They also released the film Jonas Brothers: 3-D Concert Experience. In 2010, Nick launched a solo effort: Nick Jonas and the Administration and released the album Who I Am.

Daniel Radcliffe originated the role of ‘Finch’ in this production and will conclude his run in the show on Sunday, January 1, 2012. Darren Criss, breakout star of Fox’s Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning smash hit television show “GLEE”, will make his Broadway debut as J. Pierrepont Finch, performing a strictly limited three week engagement from Tuesday, January 3, through Sunday, January 22, 2012.
